Artist Statement: This series of artwork places feminine objects near sites of emotional repression and expectation on the female body. While objects and locations on the body hold inherent meaning individually, paired together they generate uncertainties: what does the shape of the female body suggest, and what significance is added when hetero-normative objects collide with the body.

Biographical Information:  I am a local artist and middle school art teacher. I adore my teaching and everything about it. Helping students express themselves and create meaningful artwork brings me so much joy. However, my true passion is creating artwork myself. I use art to express the feelings I have no words for. My hopes for both teaching art and creating art is to make people feel understood. I want to show my students and people who view my art that they are not alone in the emotions that they feel.
