Glassriver Mosaics

 Artist Statement:

I taught art for 25 years in Winnemucca, Nevada. Each summer I would pack up my art supplies and the dog and head to Lowman, Idaho. I spent my days making mosaics and being outside in the forest. My work reflects the love I have for the outdoors and the joy I felt teaching art to my students. It never felt like a job but more like playing!

I travelled to Ravenna, Italy to study traditional methods of mosaics. I was influenced by the use of mosaics in architecture and formal art during my visit and much of my work is decorative and functional as a result.

I will be showing whimsical and playful mirrors, signs, and plaques made from stained glass and ceramics.
